Funny Stuff

Okay (remember, I am starting every post now with okay), my children are absolutely hilarioso. I have started trying to write down or blog about the funny things that they say. Some of the Emily-isms are the best. I learned from one of my professors that you can add -ism to the end of any word and make a new one. She's the best at that.

Anyway, she asked once if it was raining dog-dogs and meows. Tooo cute.

Tonight, we went to see KungFu Panda. That is great. We laughed so much. Emily had to go to the bathroom about ten times in the last 45 minutes of the movie, which meant that Kendall had to go, too. Emily showed me some of her KungFu moves in the bathroom that she learned from the movie. When we got home, the kids played outside for about ten minutes, in which time she wet her pants.

Me: Emily, did you wet your pants?

Em: Yes ma'am.

Me: When? At the movies or outside?

Em: Outside.

Me: I am beginning to think you have a bladder infection or a kidney infection.

Em: Yep. It's definitely a kitty infection. Ryan, I have a kitty infection.

Now, instead of my first thought being that I have to share stuff like this with Keith, now my first thought is I have to share this with BlogWorld. So, Leigh, my one regular reader, I hope you enjoyed this.

My kiddos have to go to the bathroom 27 times every time we go anywhere. And they are 10 and 7. My mom is always convinced that they have something wrong with them when they leap up for the fourth time during lunch out to go to the bathroom. Really...they are just going to go...because they can :-)

gHeather, that is my baby girl. She is so funny....When you put my name or Rita's, do you know how to link to it? I need more readers, too...lol. Call me. I will tell you how.

ugagirl30 said...

Yes, I know how to link. I just didn't do it in this one. Sometimes I just don't feel like it.

I start every post with "So." "Okay" is a good start too. I say go for it!

My son pees every three minutes at the movies. I'm dumb enough to keep letting him get Mr. Pibb when we go.

Anonymous said...

That story is too funny. A kitty infection....

BTW...you start off your posts with "okay"...I recently noticed I start mine with "So". I guess we each gotta have our niche.

I LOVE THE MA'AM!!!

Manners and adorableness to boot!

Well done!

awwwww - that is cute!

there's something about movies - they bring out the pee in the best of us sometimes.

Heather said...

That's so funny! She sounds like a real cutie!

Kimmie said...

How cute. My Nicky has phrases that he says that are nowhere nearly said correctly... these are the cute days right?

Anonymous said...

That is so cute!

Kitty infection! lol.

Yeah, it's really just all about going. It's the reverse of kids who refuse to go. My daughter will wait forever sometimes because she doesn't want to miss something or stop what she's doing and sometimes not be able to make it. But, she absolutely has to go to any public bathroom we see. Go figure!

Kitty infections are not pleasant, I hear. What a cutie!!

I'm so relieved my boys are old enough to hit the bathroom together alone now. So I don't have to get up during the movie. hehe

Unknown said...

Oh LOL that is tooooo cute! out of the mouths of babes-again stopping in from SITS

Unknown said...

That is hilarious! A kitty infection - well, you know, she is kinda right! Congrats on your SITS day.

Melissa Lester said...

Oh, a kitty infection sounds kind of sweet, but I still don't think I would want one. Hee-hee! That is too cute.

I am from Alabama too and notice some familiar names on your blog roll. I met Graham Shenanigans at a local blog lunch recently. If you live in the Montgomery area, plan to join us in January!

Preston said...

Kids are amazing, aren't they. And hey, doesn't everyone get a kitty infection every now and then, okay?
Oh, and happy SITS day, okay?

Little kids have all the best lines.

Too cute!

Jewel Allen said...

Funny! :-)

Kids say things that make more sense than the "proper" way.

Melodie said...

I always post cute stuff about my girls on my blog first. My hubby reads my blog while he is at work, so it's actually the quickest way to let him know about what the girls are doing, too.

Laurel @ Ducks in a Row said...

Kids say the funniest things. Good for you for remembering to write them down.

Pamela said...

Too Cute! You will really be glad you wrote these down when she is older (she will too)!

Ash said...

I see a direct proportion to visits with "cool" bathrooms. You know the ones, usually found at movie theaters, with the magic soap, magic water and magic flushing toilets.

Can't get enough of those magic flushing toilets!

I love it when kids come up with cute stuff like this!

I've even been known to tell my kids, "Hey, do or say something funny already so I can blog about it." FYI: that is a sure-fire way to get them to stare at you blankly and not do anything funny for weeks.

Anonymous said...

That is too funny. My son will jump up every 2 minutes to go to the bathroom when he's watching a video. Especially when it's something he thinks might be the least bit scary. Otherwise, he's fine. It's strange.

Heather said...

It truly is a sign of blogger's addiction when your first thought is "Ooooh, this'll be great material for my blog!" before thinking of telling your spouse/the grandparents/anyone else! I know this firsthand 'cause that is TOTALLY how I am now! Hee!

Hoping the kitty infection cleared up quickly - too funny!

Cheers!

Anonymous said...

It's good that you're writing down all the -isms. My 8 year old used to regularly crack us up with stuff, and I’ve forgotten a lot of them.

Brandy said...

Well if you must have a kidney infection at least you can name it something cute right?

Ronnica said...

You start every post with "okay?" Haha! "Anyway" seems to be my hit word. I use it too much!

I hope she got over her kitty infection quickly!

Cassie said...

Happy SITS day! Oh how our children will love us someday for writing this stuff down! Very cute!

mrsmouthy said...

All I can picture now is the movie Alien, where that little, wet alien hatches from that lady's stomach...only I'm seeing a kitty now!

jori-o said...

Aren't kids funny? And it's so true about the -ism phenomena...

Katie said...

How Cute! It's so fun being able to enjoy all the fun things kids say!! Congrats FB!

Heather said...

I have to stop myself from starting every post I write with "So" so now maybe I will just run with it.

Kitty infection~! Awesome!

Eve said...

Well, a 'kitty' infection does sound a lot more pleasant than a bladder or kidney infection! Haha - too cute!

Avery Tales said...

That was too funny! The kitty infection made me laugh out loud! I can't wait to read more of your blog and it's always fun to find another Alabama girl in the bloggyworld! Happy SITS Day!!

I may have a kitty infection also, or just a weak bladder. Too cute!

"Kitty" infection is much more pleasant to say than UTI!

Nina said...

That was cute! I post funny stuff my kids say on my blog all the time. I love to share it with everyone and I find it is a great way for me to keep track of all that they say. LOL...

OneZenMom said...

Okay, :) That is adorable! Reminds me of the time my friend's son wanted to go swimming in the "cat pool" and she couldn't figure out what he was talking about until he said, "you know mom, the little pool, you said it was the 'kiddie' pool."

Anonymous said...

LOL That is cute!!! I can't wait until my little one is telling me funny stuff.

Vickie said...

Oh My Gosh, that is so funny. Though I hope it wasn't an infection. Those bladder infections suck beans.

Brooke said...

Kids are hilarious! Oh man. What a funny girl.

katie said...

Awww! What a good idea! I love the things kids say sometimes! I should start blogging about the things my little girl says.

Teryn said...

That's so cute! Kids are so much fun. I can't wait till mine's talking.

*I also totally agree with the "ism" my husband also adds "ology" or "itis" for all sorts of made up conditions.

The Happy Mom said...

Cute! Yes, you have to write down what they say or you will forget, trust me. It's a side effect of Mommy brain overload. My favorite grade to teach was kindergarten, I swear, every single day I nearly peed my pants laughing at something one of the kids said. At five years old, they have NO filters! :)

This is hilarious! Kitty infections are the worst.

That's so funny...my son ate it on the blacktop at school on Friday, and his face is all mashed up. My first thought was, "Is he okay?" and my second was, "Where's my camera? I need to blog this!" I'm an awesome parent.

"Kitty Infection"- that's precious :-)
I'm with Emily though- I head to the potty more than I'd like, so I don't buy anything to drink at the movies anymore, since they cost so much :-S

Looks like a lore more of us than just Leigh got a kick out of it.

Great story - you gotta love what comes out of those little mouths!

Happy SITS day!

Sounds like your daughter makes up a lot of pet-isms. See, I learned that from your blog.

Blicky Kitty said...

heehee. You have to watch out for those kitty infections! I should know! :)

EmmaP said...

well - if it IS a "kitty" infection, than the cranberry juice and any meds she'll have to take will just have to be "kitty" food... good luck with that.

Michelle said...

Ahhh the language of the innocent! I love the little malapropisms they come up with! Too cute (see, I used an "ism").

Robyn said...

Yeah! Someone else who knows how to start a sentence. I often find myself going back through and changing my sentences. I wonder if I talk that way as well?

Gotta love the kid talk. I have a 2 yo with creative language too.

I am a day late and a dollar short for your SITS day, but glad I made it.

'kitty infection"... too cute!

My 7 year old has to go to the bathroom everywhere we go... she has some weird obsession with public bathrooms...

Laural Out Loud said...

My daughter loves to check out public bathrooms- she'll pretend hse has to pee just to go in one. It drives me crazy!

LOL about the kitty infection. But I hope she was okay!

All I think about is if I can use something for The Blog or not...my family is totally useless to me if I can't find something blog worthy in them. ;)

I can't believe I missed you SITS day!! So sorry. :) I bet your head is swimming with all the comment love you've gotten. Brace yourself sister...the crash is something terrible.

That is SO cute! I am a bad Mommy. I wait for the DVD. One too many trips to the potty made me realize I could save the cash AND actually get to see the movie! I know what you mean about sharing with online friends first. My blog is not really personal, but I catch myself running to the keyboard to plurk and twit!

Rachael said...

I love it! So cute. I think it's definitely good to write them down, for other people's entertainment. I just love reading about those moments.

BTW, I'm here from SITS and I think you're great, also I love your header!

funny, my girl has to try out toilets, today, she saw one with blue water in it for the first time - slammed the lid - "it stinks" she said.
