Proud Parent

I am so very proud of Ryan. He just finished second grade with All A's for the year. At the beginning of the school year, he scored a 71 on his Dibels test. In May, he scored 159 on the Dibels oral reading fluency. That is more than double his starting score!! His report states that he is reading on a fourth grade level after the fourth month of the school year. That means he is reading at a level greater than 90% of other second graders.

I am so excited for him to start third grade. I certainly hope that it will prove a little more challenging in order to hold his interest. Thanks to all of you for listening to my complaints throughout the year--next year will be better--I feel it!!

Tough times

Ever have those days when you just hate everything about yourself? And then you have some caring soul point out to you your biggest flaw? Well, that is today. We had a drastic money situation happen. As though I was not feeling low enough about myself, an anonymous someone decided to tell me that my biggest flaw was my lack of self-motivation. And I totally agree. However, it really doesn't make me feel any better to hear someone point out what is wrong with me. Please pray for us as this financial situation is bleek, please pray for me to become a stronger, more ambitious, more motivated person. Please pray for my marriage because every financial strain puts a strain on what is usually a very strong marriage. I know that there are a couple of factors at work here. I feel like Satan is using the one thing (money) that he knows can cause problems, and I feel like God is using money to teach me a lesson in communication and organization. Again, I reiterate that this is a very hard time right now, so please pray.

Meeting an old friend

Today is the day that I meet an old friend for lunch. Wendy and I were friends in high school and then were college roommates for one year. She has become a successful business woman, and I am her polar opposite as a SAHM. She has no children, so I am sure this lunch will be adventurous. I picture it somewhat like the movie "Sweet Home Alabama." She has gone off to a far away state and made it big in her career field (which is something in the line of finance or accounting). Coming home to see what her old friends are up to is probably going to be somewhat of a culture shock. And I just realized this meeting will also take place in Greenville. While I will not be nursing a baby in the bar, nor have I ever, we live a very simplistic life. And I love my life! I love my family. While there are days that I am not grateful to be at home, overall I am very happy to be home with my two beautiful girls. So today will probably make Wendy glad that she chose the life path that she did, and maybe even reinforce my happiness in the one I did.

My blogs

Let me explain the purpose of this blog. It is a place for me to express my thoughts and feelings. It also serves as a way to keep my family posted on what is happening with my family. If you cannot be kind enough to read my blog and keep your thoughts and opinions and jokes about me or it to yourself, please do us both a favor and stop reading it. I am sorry if you don't think I am as cool as you, but this is me--crazy and happy--hence the title of my blog. This is not a joke to me, and I don't view myself as a joke either. You know who you are--you don't have to put other people down to make yourself look better. I am sorry if you are not happy--but I am! Even as chaotic as my children can be, as impatient as I can be--I am happy! I LOVE AND ADORE MY HUSBAND, I LOVE AND ADORE MY CHILDREN AND I DON'T WANT TO BE ANYWHERE ELSE!! And I love writing. Who cares what it is about? If you don't like it, don't read it. It is that simple!

Thanks!

Happy Birthday, Emily!

Yesterday was Emily's 4th birthday! Gosh, where has the time gone? I can still see that precious little baby girl in ICU hooked up to all those monitors and IVs. Praise be to God and God only that Emily is happy, healthy, super intelligent, and funny. What a joy she is to see blossom!!!! Here are some pics from her actual birthday where we had just family cake and ice cream. She was so thrilled.
