What in the world?

With all that is going on in the name of our children, it sure does put into perspective what the most important things in our lives are. For those of you who don't know, we are still waiting on the results of Ryan's Lyme Disease test. However, I received emails today letting me know that a very close friend's four-month old baby girl, who has been sick most of the time since she was born, is being tested for Leukemia. I also received another one stating that my niece has been talking about suicide and cutting herself several times lately.

These things have all made me realize that one thing is necessary: hitting your knees. Now, I always pray. But lately I have been overcome with worry, not just about my own child, but about the people around me that I love, as well. Prayer doesn't seem to be enough. I was reduced to tears after reading the two emails, affected deeply enough that I hit my knees. And I think you all should do the same.

The one thing that binds us all together is our faith in the Lord, our Lord, our Father. This is the reason that I openly tell you that if you feel moved enough to say, "God, I know that no matter what we wish for, our lives are in your hands. I give it all it you, Lord. I trust you with everything." Now, truthfully, we have probably all had moments like these. And truthfully, God has always seen us through. He has allowed us to persevere. And I truly believe that God will deliver all of the precious children through their perils, just as he has us. Nothing is greater than the power of prayer.

Easter Sunday 2008

What a wonderful day to be with family! We had an amazing time with the kids, hunting Easter Eggs and enjoying a big meal at Mom's. Everyone was there, except Lorri's boys. It was a little cooler than I would have liked, but wonderfully sunny. Jack enjoyed getting all the attention and sunbathing in the sunshine. Ryan took off to Brenda's to play Playstation, so he wasn't around for pictures. Here are pics of the rest of us though.
