Christmas around here, along with most other families, gets waaaayyy out of control. Our children become so wrapped up in gifts that they lose sight of the real meaning of Christmas. So this year, in an attempt to focus our attention back on Jesus and away from material things, we are limiting our spending to $150 per child. Considering one is almost a teen, all of the gadgets that he wants are more than this alone. Emmy, aka Baby Love, is only 6 but has requested an ipod touch. Thank goodness for Baby K and the toys that she wants.
Anyone have suggestions for making the money stretch? I usually try to make them an outfit or two, but my sewing machine is not working right now. The children are 11, 6, and 5. Suggestions are welcome!!

I have an 11 year old too, and I'm actually thinking of getting her a Bible of her own. It's too bad your sewing machine isn't working - can you borrow someone else's? (Saw you on SITS today.)
